Attached please find the Strategic Business Plan for the 2008/2009 financial year, including projections for the following two years.

COUNCILLOR FEES for the 2008/2009 year are as follows:

$150 per committee meeting or minor matters (less than two hours duration)
$250 per meeting in excess of two hours and entire day attendances
$1.00 per km traveling allowance from place of normal residence to the meeting
$8,000 per annum discretionary Presidential allowance

RATES & GARBAGE CHARGES proposed for the 2008/2009 year are:

Council will adopt the unimproved capital value as it appears on the Valuation Roll prepared by the Office of the Valuer General in accordance with the Valuation of Land Act as its method of calculating the assessed value of all rateable land in the Council area for the year ending 30 June 2009. The Valuation is based on the 2004 Coomalie Valuation Roll.

The amount which Council intends to raise by way of rates is $457,505.

Minimum Rate- Batchelor and Adelaide River Township Wards: $553.20

Minimum Rate- Coomalie/Tortilla, Adelaide River Rural, Lake Bennett and Batchelor Rural Wards: $466.50

The amount which Council intends to raise by way of garbage charges is $66,400 (together with GST where applicable).

Domestic Garbage Rate- Batchelor and Adelaide River Township Wards: $138.55

Commercial Garbage Rate- Batchelor and Adelaide River Township Wards: $304.85

Commercial Garbage Rate- Lake Bennett Wilderness Resort: $609.70
