Quiet reading corners are available should you wish to avail yourself of the air-conditioned comfort, we also offer internet access, iPad and computer lending, Knit & Knatter and Craft sessions (check with your local library first for details).
Both libraries operate under an agreement between Coomalie Community Government Council and the library owners – Adelaide River Primary School and Batchelor Institute of Indigenous Tertiary Education (BIITE).
The Adelaide River library has a vast collection of World War 2 books, with several relating to the Coomalie areas activities during the war. These have been donated over many years through our ANZAC Dawn Service.
The library located at BIITE contains a wonderful collection of indigenous art along with many books on indigenous history and culture.
To ensure adequate supervision of children the below rules are applicable at each Community Library, these rules have been determined in conjunction with the Adelaide River Primary School and Batchelor Institute policy.
The above rules are put in place to ensure the safety of our children.
Thursday 3:30pm – 6:30pm
Friday 3:30pm – 6:30pm
Saturday 9:00am – 2:00pm
Friday 3:00pm – 5:30pm
Sunday 1:00pm – 4:30pm
