Coomalie Council Update: Pathway Cleared for August 2025 Local Government Election
The Minister’s decision to dismiss all the suspended members of the Coomalie Community Government Council from office today is a first step towards enabling the community to elect a new Council in August 2025. This will be at the same time other NT Government Councils go to election.
“Since July 2024, I have worked closely with Council staff and the community to ensure the continued delivery of services and have maintained transparent governance practices during this period” said Mr Mark Blackburn Official Manager
“I would like to thank the CEO and the Senior Management and their teams for their professionalism in developing a new set of Council policies that have addressed a number of irregularities and compliance issues” Mr Blackburn added.
