IMPOUNDED animals

Lost and found dogs may end up at Council pound.


If you think your dog may be at the pound, please call Council on (08) 8976 0058 during business hours, alternatively you can email us at mail@coomalie.nt.gov.au


Pound release times are Monday to Friday between 8:30 and 3:30 by prearranged appointment.

Proof of ownership must be shown, and impoundment fee’s must be paid prior to collection.


If you find a dog within the Coomalie Region, contact Council Rangers on (08) 8976 0058.


If you have lost a dog, please report them missing to Council immediately.


Please note: breeds should be used only as a guideline, please make sure you check the photo.


Coomalie Community Government Council will rehome animals 48 hours after impoundment, if not claimed.

Top End Lost and Found (TELAF)

TELAF is a free service targeting the Top End with aims to reunite lost animals with their owners.

TELAF endeavour to find new loving homes to homeless animals.


RSPCA Darwin

RSPCA provides care, shelter, and comfort to lost, neglected, surrender, unwanted and sick/injured animals.

PAWS Darwin

PAWS Darwin is a rehoming organisation for animals in the Top End, proving vet care and a second chance to homeless animals.


Save A Paw Darwin

Save A Paw Darwin provide a second chance for homeless animals within the Top End, providing vet care and endeavouring to find animals their forever home. 

Town Dogs

A limit of 2 dogs per household applies.

Rural Dogs

No limit applies. All dogs must be registered. Fees apply as above (working dogs exempt).

If you haven't registered your dog/s, registration forms are available from the  Council office in Batchelor, or for download below.
