FULL-TIME RANGER AND LAND MANAGEMENT COORDINATOR

COUNCIL SERVICES TEAM

(temp 12-month contract)

Grade 7


Working within the Council Services unit, the Ranger and Land Management Coordinator (Temporary Full‑Time, 12‑month contract) will coordinate and ensure compliance in implementing Council’s core business of animal and land management obligations under various legislative requirements, Council policies and the planning framework.


The role will lead the development and delivery of natural resource management work programs for roads, waste management, cemeteries, parks and gardens, animal control and other land management activities on all Council‑controlled lands throughout the Coomalie Region.

FULL-TIME MUNICIPAL SUPERVISOR

COUNCIL SERVICES TEAM (perm position)

Grade 4/5


Working within the Council Services Unit, the Municipal Supervisor will assist the unit by overseeing the daily management and supervision of the Municipal Works Team.


The position will ensure the delivery of Council’s services to the community are undertaken in a timely and professional manner, whilst supporting the municipal works team in its daily and long-term planning. It will provide support for the Council and Community Services Manager and Ranger and Land Management Coordinator. The position will also oversee the WHS practices of the Municipal Works Team and ensure operations are conducted in a safe and compliant manner.

EXPRESSION OF INTEREST

CASUAL POOL LIFEGUARD

COMMUNITY SERVICES TEAM

Grade 4


Council is seeking Expressions of Interest from suitable persons who are willing to act as a

Pool Lifeguard on a temporary, as-required basis. Applicants must be available at short notice

and willing to work some weekend shifts.


Hours of operations:

Monday 6:30am - 8:30am and 3:00pm - 6:00pm

Thursday 3:00pm - 6:00pm

Friday 6:30am - 8:30am and 3:00pm - 6:00pm

Saturday 1:00pm - 6:00pm

Sunday 12:00pm - 6:00pm


Duties include:

  • Completion of Pool Testing
  • Supervision of all patrons within the facility
  • Interaction with the patrons
  • Pool balancing as required


Required Qualifications, or a willingness to achieve:

  • Provide First Aid (HLTAID011)
  • HLTAID009 Provide CPR (updated within the last 12 months)
  • Current Pool Lifeguard Certificate
  • Working with Children Clearance (Ochre Card)
  • Current Police Check

SELECTION CRITERIA

Essential Selection Criteria

  • Previous experience with plant and machinery
  • Time management skills and good work ethics
  • C Class Driver’s License
  • Mechanical and problem-solving skills
  • Good communication skills and having the ability to communicate with the public
  • General understanding of Work Health and Safety legislation and ability to assess and approach in a responsible manner, safety of self and others
  • Reliability, punctuality and being a good team player in a small team
  • Ability to obtain a NT Police Check
  • Ability to obtain a NT Ochre Card


Desirable Selection Criteria

  • Senior First Aid Certificate (or ability to obtain the Certificate)
  • Previous experience with tasks such as irrigation, slashing, spraying and road maintenance
  • Good knowledge of the Coomalie region
  • Heavy Rigid Driver’s License
  • Chainsaw Operators certificate
  • Tractor Operators certificate
  • Chemical Handling certificate
  • Temporary Traffic Management (STLI) certificate


Physical Demands

  • Ability to work in hot humid conditions
  • Ability to stand for long periods of time
  • Ability to assess and perform safe manual handling practices
